This cast glass sculpture has a calm expression and lens like polishing g on the forehead and cheeks. When viewed for some angles, one can see the inner view of the face reflecting off the back surface of the glass.
I first sculpted a clay head, made a special sand mold of it, ladled molten glass into the mold and put it in an annealer for 5 days to cool. Once cold, I ground and polished the forehead and cheeks with a wet belt sander.
Approximately 8 inches tall by 5.5 inches wide by 3.5 inches deep. Made of clear glass.
I love keeping pieces like this in a windowsill for the beautiful things it does with the light.
