Cast Glass Prism Face

$325.00

This cast glass sculpture has a sweet smile emerging out of an array of prisms. It makes rainbows in the sunlight from certain angles.

I first sculpted a clay head, made a special sand mold of it, ladled molten glass into the mold and put it in an annealer for 4 days to cool. Once cold, I ground and polished the prismatic array of crystal like facets around the sides using lapidary wheels and a wet belt sander.

It is a nice, substantial solid piece of glass that looks like a big crystal with a benevolent face emerging from it.

Approximately 5 inches tall by 4.5 inches wide by 3 inches deep. Made of clear glass.

I love keeping pieces like this in a windowsill for the beautiful things it does with the light. It's pretty fun to move around and see what the best angle is to make the brightest rainbow.
